My Two Strokes.…part 2

Strokes are life-changing. They happen unannounced and the overall effects can be different every time. There is no preparation as to what will occur after the fact. In my case, I was a healthy person in very good physical shape, no high blood pressure,no high glucose or high cholesterol, mentally agile and strong-willed, capable of working long hours every day. Now, looking back, the first stroke was my mind and body warning myself.Twenty two hour days wide awake with little sleep did not allow my body time to recharge and repair itself from all I was forcing it to go through every day. Although I do not smoke, drink very little alcohol, do not believe in drugs of any type, I am a workaholic. I love to be doing something every minute of every day. Call it being your own worst enemy, if you will. As I was laying in my hospital bed, dealing with the almost constant stream of people checking my vitals, drawing vials of blood from me, asking me to try to move my arms, legs, feet, hands, fingers, eyes breathe deep and countless repetitive questions, I must have asked a thousand times, “What is causing my strokes?” Nobody knew the answer. It was time for me to dig deep and research this myself.

On top of it all, I was unable to move myself around as I had my entire life, nor could I use my left hand and arm normally as my right side would do so. Such a bind! Quickly I discovered it was up to me to make myself recover utilizing every ounce of mental-emotional-knowledge and physical strength inside me.
